History

In 1956, Erich and Inge Schmidt founded the bus company in Bacharach. They offered coach tours, taxis, excursions and club trips, among other things.

In the 60s and 70s, the vehicle fleet was expanded and the first bus was proudly put into service.

On 1 April 1986, Dirk Büttner and his wife Ulla Büttner took over the business from his parents-in-law. In order to have enough space for the vehicle fleet and the company, the new company premises were built at Blücherstraße 82. You can still find us there today.

In the 2000s, Rheintal Reisen grew bigger and bigger. The team and the fleet grew steadily and all the vehicles were given a new livery.

On 15 October 2004, Kornelia and Dirk Büttner took over the taxi licence from Mrs Margret Sobanski in Oberwesel. From this day on, Rheintal Reisen in Bacharach was now also known as Rheintal-Taxi in Oberwesel. In 2011, Rheintal Reisen celebrated its 25th anniversary.

The next step in the company history of Rheintal Reisen was completed in 2019: Mrs Jasmin Baumgarten bought the company from Mr and Mrs Büttner and will lead Rheintal Reisen successfully into the future.
